The 1865 Southampton was a lovely venue with great sound and lighting. Hanns who was visiting Southampton from Germany for business saw a poster of Saiichi playing his Les Paul and decided to check out. He told us that he was so glad he did. Greg Rowe took a number of excellent photographs on the night, which are featured on this page. Fine support from Brent Hutchinson.
We caught up with many of our friends old and new in Essex at the New Crawdaddy Club gig hosted by the wonderful Mr Paul Dean with an excellent turn out. Saiichi had a long chat with Phil the Music Quill before going on stage, which will be published on his website as an inteview/gig review feature (Thank you Karen Rockingham for getting us together). Joe Anderton Band played an excellent suppot set. Special thanks are due to Chris Richardson for her help in driving around the local area promoting this gig with posters and flyers.
The Musician Leicester gig was attended by DJ Dave Turton from Radio Caroline. Tim Green Band travelled from Doncaster to give a sterling support set. There were a couple of photographers with serious cameras in the audience. We have seen some previews of Mick Schofiled’s photos and there are going to be great photos. Thanks are due to Chris Sims and Deb Jeffs for promoting this gig.
We are now really looking forward to playing what they call over in the US our “home town” gig at the Farnham Maltings promoted by Monica Madgwick’s Boogaloo Promotions on Thursday 30 March. Rietta is returning to sing for this gig. Ticket bookings have been going well and it will be a busy night with many of the band’s friends in attendance. Can’t wait!
